Choose a photo to get started
Use a recent, clear, front-facing photo in good even light. A plain background works best — but you can try the "Whiten Background" step below on most photos.
Nusuk photo requirements
- Exactly 200 × 200 pixels, square
- Plain white background, no shadows or patterns
- Colour photo (not black and white), JPEG format
- Face fills roughly 70–80% of the frame
- Neutral expression, eyes open, mouth closed
- Looking directly at the camera
- Religious headwear is fine, as long as your forehead, cheeks, and chin are fully visible
- No glasses glare, and avoid tinted lenses
What this tool does — and doesn't do
It crops, centres, resizes to exactly 200×200px, and compresses your photo — all in your browser. Your photo is never uploaded to us or anyone else, including during background whitening, which runs as an on-device model rather than a server call.
"Whiten Background" gives a genuine automatic result, but automatic background removal isn't always perfect — hair edges especially can come out slightly rough. Always review the result closely before downloading, and if it's not clean enough, "Use Original Instead" and retake the photo against a real plain white wall or sheet. Requirements can change, so check the current official spec on the Nusuk platform before submitting.
